Young Adult Ministry
St. Anastasia Catholic Church has a new Ministry and you
are invited! This Young Adult Ministry or YA! is for Catholic men and women ages
19 through 29. Individuals can be
single or married and must have a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and to
the Church’s values and beliefs. Our
goals are to connect young adults to the Church, the mission of the Church and
the Christian community. Events focus on increasing faith, fellowship, and
friendships connecting young adults to a peer community to further support and
nurture their faith.
Our new Ministry will begin on October 10th. We will meet once a month on the
second Sunday of every month from 9:15-10:15 in the administration building conference room where we will deepen
our faith, expand our knowledge of God and learn to live as Young Adults in
Christ. Once a month we will also meet for a fun fellowship event such as;
bowling, Volleyball, Potluck, fact or fiction night, Blizzard beach , Schooner
ride, etc. In addition, there will
be other events such as community service, and retreats.
We understand that you are busy with school, work and life! There is no
attendance policy, so come when you can! You will find a calendar of events for
the next year in this packet. You will be able to view upcoming events at
www.sayg.org. We want this ministry to be yours, please fill out the survey and mail it
back to us. We are excited about this new
ministry and look forward to having you as a part of it.

S.A.Y. - Amen! (St. Anastasia Youth
– Amen!)
SAY Amen! is a youth group for middle school and high school students. Our youth groups meet for an hour and
a half most Sundays in the Community Center at St. Anastasia. We play games, shoot hoops, play ping
pong, eat, and hang out with each other.
Most importantly, we learn about how to apply the teachings of Jesus
Christ to our daily lives through exploration of the scriptures.
Our high school and middle school groups meet separately most of the time and
once a month we come together to share a meal and fellowship. In addition to our weekly meetings we
also have a ton of other cool stuff going on:
·
We have several retreats each year
·
We
participate in monthly community service events (St. Francis House and various
others throughout the year)
·
We attend
Adoration at four am once a month (first Friday of the month)
·
We host events for the members of our parish
(Trunk N Treat, Thanksgiving dinner, Easter Egg Hunt, and more)
·
We take several trips each year including our
annual winter ski trip
·
We go on a mission trip every summer
·
We serve, sing and read at youth Mass monthly
·
We attend the annual Steubenville conference
·
We participate in events with other Christian
youth groups throughout the year (summer volleyball league, DNOW retreat,
Carefest and more).
·
This list could go on and on, but you should
check out our calendar and come by for a visit!
Students of all denominations are welcomed and we encourage you to bring
friends!
Children's Liturgy
Welcome!
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a program for children in grades K-3. This takes place every
Sunday during the 10:30 Mass. This program has been a very successful way
for children to understand the readings and Gospel teachings. The children also
take part in singing, Profession of Faith, and Prayers of the Faithful. This is
a fun way to learn and praise God.
Here’s how
it works:
Your family will find your seat in church. After Mass begins Father
will call the children up to the altar and bless them before going to the altar
server room with the facilitators. They will return during the Offertory.
Children’s
Liturgy does not take place on special occasions, holidays, and during the
summer months of June and July.
If you have any
questions or are interested in volunteering please contact the Youth Ministry
Office at 471-5364 EXT 115.
